Arsenal are reportedly interested in a surprise transfer deal for Manchester United midfielder Donnie van de Beek.

The shooters would be willing to pay around €30m to sign Van de Beek from their rivals, according to Todo Fihahes, who has also shown interest in him in the past.

Van de Beek shone at Ajax before joining Manchester United last summer in what looked like an attractive signing for the Red Devils but has rarely played for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side since.

One can imagine the Dutchman considering the possibility of moving forward and perhaps having more time for Arsenal due to the lack of quality in midfield.
The north London giants could use Van de Beek as an upgrade for someone like Granite Jack or even in a more offensive role to compete against Martin Odegaard and Emil Smith Rowe.

The 24-year-old could leave Old Trafford if he is to revive his career, although Arsenal do not see what should happen at the moment.

Mikel Arteta is struggling to get the club back where it belongs despite the voices of other big names lately.
Van de Beek is certainly good enough to be a bit picky about where to play next, so it will be interesting to see if he takes the opportunity to move to the Emirates Stadium, even if it allows him to play more often.

These clubs don’t sell each other very often, but we’ve seen more of them in the last decade as Robin van Persie, Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez and Henrich Mkhitaryan switched between them.
